bear hug me

I’ve got something for you to watch.

If you’re like me, you might shy away from immediately watching videos as you quickly breeze through the blogs you read. I assure you this is less than two-and-a-half minutes long. And it sums up the prayer of my heart just right.

I dug all I could and this was (sadly) the best video I could find. So apologies in advance for the poor quality. Mostly I want you to hear what’s being said, so the yucky video shouldn’t matter too much.

How does that resonate with you?

    first comment…
    excitingness!
    that’s pretty rare for me.

then again it is 12.30am and i’m still up…maybe time for lights out.

  3. Louise says:

“…hold me in this hugging pose until the pain is flowing from my eyes and nose. ”

“The whole point of what we’re urging is simply love - love uncontaminated by self-interest and counterfeit faith, a life open to God.” (1 Tim. 1:5)

This is how I long for our church to live out hope this year. Allowing Christ to hug others like this through them.

If I was with you right now, I’d give you a great big bear hug! Since I’m not, accept a cyber-hug, knowing that its my intention to be there with you!

    Bear hugs r the best!!!

It’s interesting how his voice has changed- his vocal “performance”.
    I’ve always loved this.

You know if you were just a little closer…..

after 7 years living here in SC, i found a good bear hugger. everyone needs one from time to time.

  8. Debra says:

Oh how I get that … a need for a big bear hug and a good long cry to cleanse your soul … I pray that our Daddy hugs you good and long this day and everyday in a tangible way that you never forget. He did it for me one time (the tangible part) … hugged me in the wind in a way that I knew, absolutely knew, it was Him. So amazing our God!

Love you Alece and praying everyday … you aren’t walking alone! :)

  9. Brandy says:

I love bear hugs. I love giving bear hugs to people who aren’t bear huggers….. it’s like they’re afraid they might feel something if you hold on for more than 2 seconds. ;-)

I try to bear hug my mom b/c she is not a big hugger. It’s funny how a bear hug can let out a lot of emotion if you hold on long enough.

    :teary:

my heart hurts for you Alece.

  11. Theresa says:

Where do we get those from?

  12. kaylen says:

    yep mandie, you’re right. : )

alece, you know i’d plant one on you (erm, a hug, that is) in a heartbeat. and i love that poem.

  13. annie says:

Made me tear up too. I could use a big bear hug from Him right now …

  14. Julie says:

wow…I think that nailed it for a lot of us. I think I might just fall apart and be healed at the same time if I felt His hug…a real hug…the kind where someone holds on to you like life itself depended on it. There is definitely healing in that.

The beauty of Africa lies not in her landscape or wildlife, but in her people. Their eyes tell stories that can never be written and their smiles speak of an illogical hope that is never shaken.

More than a decade ago I came to "change Africa", but Africa has changed me.
