laughing matters

The first dialogue of my day:

Big-brother Mike: No matter how bad a day you’re having, after watching just a few minutes of Jerry Springer you’ll feel instantly better about yourself.

::Laughter::

Mom: I don’t understand why he would even have a show like that?

Me: Who? Springer?

Mom: Yes. He is such a wonderful man.

::MUCH laughter from me and Mike::

Mom: What?!  He is!

Jerry Springer had an interesting life. He didn’t grow up in America I think. I can’t remember…all I remember is Mr. Springer has an interesting past.

Even still, I found it hilarious that your mom thought he was wonderful. hehe.

HAHAHAHA!
too funny!

becca — really? hmmm…

Oops - I should have refreshed. :-) Becca beat me as I was gathering the facts.

I hope that you are not the one having a bad day…

yes. he actually is. i heard a story about him on This American Life or something… he was a VERY popular politician before he got all into this trash TV stuff. it’s not actually who he really is.
strangest story.

Wow. I don’t even know what to say to that.

Does mom even know who Jerry Springer is?

This post made me laugh…. I needed that after a busy day.

becca — it’s definitely interesting. i remembered that he had been a mayor, but that’s about it.

gigi — thanks for making my load lighter by doing the research for me! i enjoyed the bulleted list! i read it to my mom and she was like, “seeeeee!” ha ha.

mandy — don’t you wonder what brought about the major shift in his “career”????

marc — ha! i love when you comment.

andrew — of course!!! she saw him on dancing with the stars and that’s when her whole perception of him started to change.

jen — glad i could provide some comic relief!

I think politics gave him a mid-life crisis!!
or he’s a great actor.

He’s known to be a very smart guy.

You know cheech of cheech &chong or am I so dating myself. Anways Cheech is an art collector and a historian, although he didn’t play one. :)

great actors!!

cheech made a come-back on judging amy. i love that show, and i always kind of adored his character. so quirky and funny… and just what maxine needed!

I wish I could have been in the room for this conversation. Darn it.

Yay! I have been quoted. Actually a quote of a quote I quoted has been quoted. But it still feels great and it made me smile. Ah, fame is an amazing thing. :-)

lol. I actually don’t know a thing about Jerry Springer other than his TV show. I’m not sure how a person could stomach all that stuff for such a long time and not be changed by it.

natalie — maybe you’ll be here for some other bloggable moments!

gigi — ha ha! don’t let it go to your head now…

annie — yeah, i’d concur on that statement…

too late… :-)

peer pressure

Yep - peer pressure - he got a new producer and the changes were simply to increase ratings. (At least that was what wiki said.)

that peer pressure. gets ya every time.

Funny.

peer pressure.

hmmm, do you think it did any good? really?

hi alece! love you. really! ;)

i know, right?!??!!

thanks for the love, tam!

Doesn’t laughing hard just make you feel so good? Even if it is about Jerry Springer?
