The sound of thousands of feet treading across the soft dry dirt was the only thing that could be heard. They held their breath in amazement at what they had seen. Surely that was no ordinary stick that he held. Surely this was no ordinary man. His name means drawn from the water; would that explain his ability to dominate it?
The title of your post “picture pages” reminded me of a cable t.v. program that Bill Cosby did when I was a kid. We would get this activity page in the mail that we would fill out during that weeks program along with Bill. There was a catchy jingle that started with: “picture pages, picture pages time to do your picture pages, time to get your crayons and your pencils…” Good memories.

This is kinda what Google Earth gives us sometimes…a wretched aerial view of something that contains much beauty, if you just step in a bit closer. Go into the crevices…there’s character in each on of them. All of the people living between the chasms have personalities, struggles. Don’t just look at an expanded view of things, for the beauty lies underneath, down deep…

I think my original thought changed from when we first strolled onto that desolate dirt. (I can’t even remember what I originally thought, only what I just wrote…Ha) I don’t think I’ll ever forget the conversation, though.

Two thoughts.
“Would you like a drink with that?”
“This is how my heart feels. Parched.”
