v for vacation

We leave tomorrow for vacation.

“You just got back from America! Wasn’t that a vacation?” you ask. Hmmm… 18-hour days, with sometimes 6 back-to-back meetings/speaking engagements, and a rigorous ministry schedule isn’t what I call vacation.

This past trip was a ministry one, with us having a few days off to spend with family and friends. Tomorrow we leave for a month-long personal trip, with a few days off for ministry.

This is the first time we have ever done anything like this. It feels almost…weird. But exciting. Definitely exciting.

We are heading to the States with some South African friends of ours. We will be in New York, Florida, Michigan, Seattle, and…Hawaii. (Hence, my daydream…) I cannot wait!

When my friend Amy came to visit us in New York, she taught us her getaway-bound mantra, “V for Vacation!”, which she excitedly pronounces with her fingers in the shape of the letter “V”. We quickly picked up on this and have been declaring “V for Vacation” in excited anticipation of our departure!

I’m fairly confident I’ll end up with a lot more “V for Vacation” pictures by the time this month is over!

WOW! A MONTH vacation!!?! That sounds like heaven. At the moment a week is a far-away dream .. but maybe someday, huh? Well, I know you’ll have fun!

I am happy for you guys that you get to have a vacation.

About the movie… one word: piracy.

We get about three new movies a month on the big screen. There are NO video stores that sell originals, but dozens that have stacks of non-originals. Where else could you get a “legal” receipt for a contraband item, except in Bolivia? :-)

You sowed a dream “v”acation and you are reaping a dream “v”acation. If only all the people your lives touch would learn from your example of living God’s principle of sowing and reaping, the world would be changed forever!!!

Outside of Oprah, you and Niel are the biggest givers (sowers) I know of! I’m so proud of you. This “v”acation is God’s reward (reaping). Enjoy it to the fullest!

yea! :) Hawaii? How fun! see you soon, friend!

Enjoy every second and be sure to tell us all about it!

I’m tickled that the “V” mantra has become a staple for ALL of the Kitties :) I know you’re in flight right now… ENJOY EVERY MOMENT of this vacation… YOU SOOOOO DESERVE IT!!!

the “v” is very cute!

hey - if you’re back in seattle area - email me!! would love to see you again! :)

Hope you’re having fun! Wish I could pop up to MI this weekend to see you, but I think that’s an unrealistic wish, since I don’t have a car! :D Enjoy the “V”acation!

I’m sure you’re having fun! Your blog has a “Hawaii” dot. Hmmm…

hope you’re having a GREAT time! are you in Hawaii right now?

Yeah! What a fun time you had! You look so very happy. Thanks for sharing your photos. I especially like the fishing ones.

I am posting a comment here because there wasn’t a spot to do it on on your most recent entry.

I like the grit and glory name. Glorious grit or gritty glory? Good question. :-) I think I would opt for the gritty glory.

RYC: yes, I am a hat person. I wish more occasions called for them.
